Everywhere you look there is food! Did you ever stop to think of how food oriented our culture is?
Want to get together? FOOD
Want to celebrate? FOOD
Someone is sick or dead? Bring FOOD
There are people in this world that do not have the privilege of eating just anywhere, anything or anytime they want. These are people with Celiac Disease. Often, upon hearing the diagnosis of Celiac Disease, people are very devastated. They are told there is nothing they can eat ever again. They feel life is completely over!
Celiac Disease is a mal-absorption and auto immune disease. The gluten found in wheat, rye, common oats, and barley cannot be ingested in the small intestine. It is recommended to inquire with your family doctor or gastroenterologist about a Celiac panel blood test if you think you have any of the above mentioned symptoms.
